#6 Proper underhook position for wrestling and Jiu Jitsu

Описание к видео #6 Proper underhook position for wrestling and Jiu Jitsu

Just getting the underhook doesn’t mean you’re in good position. As a competitor and coach, I saw people get the underhook and their head and/or leg was out of position. If you’re head is out of position, you can get taken down with a fireman’s carry. If your leg is out of position (around the back) you will surely get headlocked if the person knows how to wrestle.
Here are two videos where I show what happens if you come up to the waist. One is about what happens when you come up to the waist from a wrestle up position or off a shot:

   • #1 Defense from “wrestle up” for Jiu ...

The other is when you come up to the waist from the outside single:

   • #2 Proper way to finish the outside s...

Here, I show you the ideal position for the underhook. Your arm, head, and leg all should be on the same side. I show how to get into the underhook and show some chain wrestling from there. Learning this series, will greatly improve your game.
