2020 Suzuki DR650 sidecar build / RMSTATOR and REGULATOR install & hack to switch wires at CDI plug

Welcome to my dream of building a sidecar. I have chosen the Suzuki DR650 as my bike of choice, because of its reliability and simplicity. It needs to be beefed up to handle a car, so come on along for the build, one mod at a time.

In this video, follow the install of a new high output stator and high voltage regulator from RMStator to run heated gear, 7" headlight, GPS and more. With the stellar customer support from Evan Grist, RMStator's head engineer, I was able to handle the job myself. This included soldering wires, and learning how to put the gears back in place after they came flying out with the stator sidecase.

Learning the hack at the end of the video after you find out that your DR doesn't start after putting in an aftermarket stator will save you. Just switch the green and blue wires at the CDI plug, and watch how I got a little help from my ex hubby Pablo's buddy John who just happened to be passing by and knew how to use tweezers to disconnect the electrical connectors.
