I'm now having to resort to HD retakes to top up my backlog lol! Fortunately, I do have quite a few elevators that I saw once in 2019/20 and never touched again, partially in case of emergency instances like this. And man, did these need a revisit! These are a set of 4 OTIS Elevonic 411Ms with Series 1 — a model that is so sparse in NZ I don't think I've yet seen another (original) example! The ‘M’ in the model name should logically stand for "Modernisation", but I can't exactly tell for myself, because this mod (if it is one) looks so heavy that these look like they could be original. They're still amazing either way, and definitely feel like some of the most American-coded elevators we have in New Zealand. In fact, I discovered on this visit that Lift 2—which doubles as the service lift and is the only one to serve the basement & “Ground floor Rear”—actually has a classic fault known across the U.S.: the Series 1 crazy chime! A total of 18 chimes can be heard by having the lift arrive and letting the doors sit open for the default door timer length. This is now the second discovered elevator in NZ to have the Series 1 crazy chime (after 80 The Terrace), and the highest number of chimes rung by default during this glitch (surpassing 13). As was the case last time, these elevators are almost too mirrored, and it's near-impossible to get an indicator shot without showing off the cab behind me! It's especially a problem given how busy these lifts are and the fact that they'd always stop to pick people up so that I'm sharing a lift. Nevertheless, these were still epic to come back to!
