New York METS at Chicago CUBS 9/2/93 Original WGN Broadcast

Описание к видео New York METS at Chicago CUBS 9/2/93 Original WGN Broadcast

Original WGN Broadcast with Harry Caray, Steve Stone and Tom Brennaman first of a four game series from Wrigley Field. Recorded and Digitalized off a pre recorded VHS tape which was later converted to DVD through a DVD burner (2002) and has been recently restored and making its debut on my Phenia Film MLB archival page.
Its a forgetful year for both teams as we enter the last few months of the season as the Cubs find themselves five games under .500 at the start of todays play (64-69) while the Mets are having one of the worst seasons since the early days of the Polo Grounds as the Mets are in currently 37 games out of the first place spot in the NL East with forty games under .500 (46-86).
Bobby Jones takes the mound for New York and its Jose Guzman for Chicago. Todd Hundley hits his first career grand slam off Guzman in the 3rd inning giving the Mets the 4-0 lead. As Bobby Jones pitches a solid game only giving up only two hits after 5 innings. Cubs score two runs in the 8th inning and Jones is replaced by right hander Josias Manzanillo who pitches his way out of the 8th and gives up a solo HR to Sammy Sosa in the 9th. Look for the return of Shawon Dunston who makes a pitch hit appearance after being on the DL for over a year.
Bobby Jones get the win (2-2) pitching 7.1 innings giving up 2 runs on 6 hits with 5 Ks and 2 BB. Jose Guzman gets the loss going 6 innings giving up 6 runs on 6 hits striking out 5 while walking 3
