Jennifer Kwentoh Anionwu is a Software Engineer with a background in full stack development and has over six years’ experience in software engineering. She used her grandmother’s story to explain how she tries to infuse the Onitsha culture using friction. Jennifer talked about different ways to preserve our intangible cultural heritage which includes the aid of spatial realities such as VR-Visual reality or AR-Augmented reality devices and the use of Artificial intelligence and machine learning which will help with infusing our culture in our present reality. So instead of always speaking English to your Siri (voice assistance on Apple devices) it is better to build an AR (Augmented reality) that understands Onitsha or other dialects and follows your command, which will be very helpful in preserving native languages. She emphasized that cultural heritage doesn’t change but the way we preserve them should evolve. Jennifer Kwentoh Anionwu @jennifazor obtained a first degree in information and communication engineering (BEng) from Covenant University. She is currently pursuing a master's degree in Computer Science from Arizona State University.
Jennifer has over six years of experience in software engineering.

She has contributed to building and leading engineering teams.
In 2018 she started the women in machine learning and data science (WiMLDS) community in Abuja, Nigeria.

The community so far has empowered more than a thousand women in the machine learning
and data science field through knowledge-sharing meetups and education.

Jennifer has contributed immensely to building the Machine Learning community in Nigeria.

She is passionate about creating ethical Artificial Intelligence solutions that drive social good (AI4Good). This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at https://www.ted.com/tedx
