HURRICANE HELENE — A Love Letter To Appalachia ♡

Описание к видео HURRICANE HELENE — A Love Letter To Appalachia ♡

Beneath These Ancient Mountains Tears — is the title of a poem I wrote a few days after Hurricane Helene struck where I live in the mountains of Western North Carolina. This video is my way of expressing deep sadness for the terrible destruction and loss, but also my immense love and gratitude for this land and her people — from my heart to yours. ♡

I’ve gathered footage from various sources across many platforms, along with my own, to show what has happened here. I claim no rights to anything, nor am I seeking credit or compensation. My goal is simply to share. If you’d like credit for anything of yours in this video, please message me, and I’ll gladly include it. Thank you!

★ I am currently working on a Part 2 to discuss what is NOT being talked about publicly or in the news, so please stay tuned! ♡

— BENEATH THESE ANCIENT MOUNTAINS' TEARS —

The skies broke open, fierce and wild
Helene roared upon our hills
A torrent born of wind and rain
Unleashing chaos in the stills.

The rivers swelled, the hollers wept
Our mountains bowed beneath the flood.
Towns erased, homes torn away
Once thriving lives, now lost in mud.

Yet in this land of ageless stone
Where roots run deep and whispers grow
We feel the pulse of something more
A magic only we can know.

For in the quiet of these blue ridged hills
Where emerald trees once danced in light
The heart of Appalachia beats strong
With love that shines through darkest night.

The ancient earth that cradles us
She mourns, yet holds us close and tight
She sings of healing in the storm
Of courage rising, pure and bright.

For though the storm has taken much
The soul of these hills still remains
And we, her people, stand as one
To weather through the fiercest pains.

We’ll rise again, we always do
Like wildflowers after springtime’s rain.
In every hand that reaches out
A promise that we’ll heal again.

So let us mourn what we have lost
But let us hold on strong and true.
For in the love we share right now
Together, we’ll find skies of blue.

And in these mountains, old and wise
Where every stone is bound with grace
We’ll build anew, we’ll thrive again
With hope that none can displace.

Always in Love,
Tania
