Pro Tip 5: Piano Key Leveling Made Easy

Описание к видео Pro Tip 5: Piano Key Leveling Made Easy

Leveling piano keys is an important part of piano servicing. Key level is not only important for looks; it is a must for precise grand and upright piano regulation. Unlevel and incorrect key height can make piano dip uneven, which can also affect the piano aftertouch. Every piano technician should learn how to square, space, and level keys (in that order) and make key dip and key height correct. In this video, Jim shows a system using a short straightedge, as well as a long straightedge, with a section on how to raise all the keys. Rather than trust a “spec” we look at what is really important: the case parts. Removing and adding punchings in a grand piano without removing the stack is also shown.
