Friends, today in our sports encyclopedia series we will talk about Clout Archery.
Clout Archery is a modified variant of regular archery where shooters attempt to shoot arrows at a flag, also known as the clout.
The objective of the game for each player is to land the arrows as close to the flag as possible.
Clout Archery is an individual sport where players compete against each other.
The match takes place in an open field.
There are scoring zones marked on the ground.
Players are required to shoot from extensively long distances.
Each player is scored by the panel of judges on the basis of how close the arrow lands to the flag indicated by the marked scoring zones.
In one round of clout archery, three dozen arrows are fired.
Each competition consists of double rounds where six dozen arrows are usually used for competitions.
There are four variations of clout archery, the GNAS clout, the BLBS clout, the WA clout, and the Australian clout.
In the GNAS variant, the flags are set at distances for combinations of age and gender.
In the BLBS variant, the players should only use English longbows and wooden arrows.
In the WA variant, the flags are set for combinations of gender and bow type.
In the Australian variant, the shooters can choose the distance in which he or she can shoot.
The player with the most points at the end of the game is declared as the winner.
