Friends, today in our sports encyclopedia series we will talk about club throw.
The game club throw comes under the category of track and field events that involves participants throwing a wooden club.
Currently, the sport is only practiced by disabled athletes.
The basic objective in the game for each participant is to throw a wooden club as far as possible.
Club Throw is an individual sport played by disabled athletes.
It is played with a club which is designed similar to a baseball bat, with a handle and a thicker body.
It is necessary that the club should weigh a minimum of 397 grams.
Before the beginning of the competition, club throw athletes are classified into different classes based on their levels of disability.
Each class is judged and awarded separately.
In the competition, the target for each athlete is to throw the club from a sitting position on a rigid frame.
There is a throwing area about 7" - 8'2'' in diameter on the frame.
After the club, the end of the club closest to the throwing line is used for measuring the distance of the throw.
At the end of the game, the athlete with the farthest throw is declared as the winner.
