Which Solution Makes the Equation True? | 6.EE.B.5 | Grade 6 Math 💜

In this math video we will determine the value that makes the variable true in an equation. We will be presented with an equation with one variable and four answer choices. We will use the substitution method to determine which of the given possible solutions is the true solution. We will replace the variable, y, in the equation with the value of the possible solution. We will multitply the coefficient and the solution first. We will subtract the constant. We will check to determine if it results a statement of equality. We will complete this process with each possible solution to determine the correct solution. An exemplar solution is modeled and explained.
