5G NR Hybrid ARQ

In communication protocols, packets are not always received correctly. Sometimes the receiver will try to recover the packet via error correction. If this is not possible, it will ask the transmitter to resend the packet. Hybrid ARQ is a technique that combines both these approaches.

In this talk, we'll get introduced to Hybrid ARQ. Then we'll understand how 5G NR specifies Hybrid ARQ. We'll also look at the roles of PHY and MAC layers of the 5G NR stack towards Hybrid ARQ.
