How to Use Mark Making to Create Tone- Art Demonstration- Pen and Pencil
Do you want to improve your drawing skills? Do you want to develop shading and blending skills? Do you want to learn how you can use mark making to create tone and texture in your work?

This is a demonstration as part of a scheme of work based on drawing skills. The theme of this project is tools. This is lesson four. I will be using this with my year 8 students.

I show you how to use 4 different marks to create tone, blending from dark to light. These marks can be effective to add tone to any drawing. It is a great to explore and experiment with different ways of doing this. We will be using these skills to develop into a oil pastel mono-print.

Equipment needed- paper, pens and pencils.
