Mountain Biking Over 60? - James at Giant's Ridge

Описание к видео Mountain Biking Over 60? - James at Giant's Ridge

A friend of mine came up to Minnesota and wanted to try downhill mountain biking at Giant's Ridge in Biwabik. We're just a couple of old mountain bikers and I'm never one to turn down a good time and since I have a season pass, we headed up this morning to get in a few runs. James has never had the opportunity to ride at a lift-served mountain bike area so Giant's Ridge was in order since Spirit Mountain was running the Duluth Bike Festival today as well. We did some warm up runs (other than Kitty Kat) and started on the Ribbit trails working are way from the green trails through some of the black trails. I gave James the option of our final run which ended up being Tadpole. However, at the end the younger rider we were following turned off on the Ribbits trail so we missed out on some of the last berms and jumps on Tad Pole.

All in all, a good day completing 8 separate runs. I usually do a few more than that but we got a little bit of a late start due to some one lane construction on the way up from Duluth and we had to leave by 2:00pm. James thoroughly enjoyed it and I always do as well. Riding the downhill trails will cost you about $40 for a daily lift pass and season passes are running around $300 if you don't pick one up in the early season. I would recommend wearing pads and a full-face helmet if you're not a confident rider. Even then, it's certainly not a bad idea to get padded up just in case.

You can see some of my other videos of Giant's Ridge by watching my play list. I'll link the list and some of the videos in this video.
