How to Start Eucalyptus from Seed

One of my goals for the year is to try growing something new....so I'm getting that checked off early in the year. I'm going to try growing Silver Dollar eucalyptus. If all goes well, I'll have this beautiful plant to add to bouquets, possibly dry for a fun indoor decoration and the fragrance will be like nothing else in the garden.

According to Johnny's website, these seeds should be started 10-12 weeks before last frost. However, I've heard many flower farmers and home gardeners say they are REALLY slow growers and they start theirs even earlier. So I'm going to start mine in mid-January and hope to keep them going until the end of May.

There are a ton of eucalyptus varieties out there and I'd love to hear which varieties you've grown and how it went.
