『雪国』（1939年）や『或る保姆の記録』（1941年）など良質の文化映画を製作した芸術映画社の初期作品で、明治期以降整備された近代郵便制度における各種郵便と郵便物の種類をわかりやすく解説した文化映画。郵便業務の取材映像に加えて演出場面や図表が使われ、詳細かつ丁寧に構成されている。

「フィルムは記録する ―国立映画アーカイブ歴史映像ポータル―」では、1921年から1938年までの間に製作された作品を中心に43作品を新たに公開いたします。今回の公開では、社会的話題から市民生活までをテーマとした多様な作品に加え、重要文化財フィルム『史劇 楠公訣別』を公開しています。国立映画アーカイブでは、今後も随時公開作品を増やしていく予定です。ぜひサイトをお訪ねください。

The fourth edition of this site presents 43 additional titles covering mainly the years from 1921 to 1938. The selection includes a variety of works on topics ranging from social issues to everyday life, while the film designated as Important Cultural Property "Shigeki Nanko Ketsubetsu".
