Being a psych NP comes with many challenges. Our respective schools teach us the skills we need but had never spoken about the challenges Nurse Practitioners face in the real world. In this video, I will talk about 5 UGLY TRUTHS about being Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. I will also discuss some ways to face these challenges and ultimately overcome it one step at a time. The 5 challenges are:

1. Comparison between MDs and NPs
2. Lack of trust from the medical community
3. Psychiatry is an art form. Lack of resources available.
4. Benzodiazepines are the bane of our existence!
5. Our pay structure sucks!!!
