I Went BACKPACKING with the HIGHEST RATED GEAR on REI.com!!

I went backpacking with all the highest rated gear on REI.com!! For this video I looked on REI's website for the highest rated backpacking gear in its category and took it all on an overnight backpacking trip!! I was super excited to get my hands on all this highly rated backpacking gear and try it all out, but here's the thing: you shouldn't do this! That is a MAJOR point of this video - you should NOT build your backpacking or camping kit based solely on what is highest rated gear in its category on REI's website, or any other website. Your backpacking or camping kit should be based on what works best together, and what works best for you! Otherwise you'll end up with an ultralight backpack and a tent that is way too heavy for that backpack to haul. That being said, it was SO fun to get to try out a bunch of brand new gear, and some of the backpacking gear I took on this trip was so good that it made me think very hard about having it replace some of the most beloved items in my own personal backpacking kit.
