HealTech GIPRO/ATRE G2 Install + Initial Set-Up - Suzuki TL1000R

This is my video install of the HealTech GiPro/ATRE G2 "gear indicator" for my TL1000R.

I decide to record the steps I took (which are laid out in the instructions) in order to help others who might be interested in this unit and wanted to see what was involved.

It's a fairly easy device to install but I took extra steps to route the wire cleanly behind the frame so please use discretion when installing your own.

The instructions are easy to follow and I found scrolling through the devices menu very intuitive.

I like that this it comes with a "Timing Retard Eliminator" built in and I took full advantage of it.
You have to first turn it on through the menu by selecting a predetermined value.
For the TL1000R and most other sports bikes the value or number is "6". This makes the ECU think it's in 6th gear all through the gear range and it works a treat offering full power! :)

Secondly, the device has a delay (in milliseconds I think) before displaying what gear you're in. The factory default is set to "4" but I just set it to "0". Who needs a delay?

Lastly, I had to up the brightness. The downside of selecting the "Blue LED" version is that it can get washed out in direct sunlight. The "Red LED" version is supposed to be the best in all lighting conditions so consider this when purchasing one. I just like the blue colour better. :P
The factory setting for brightness is "4" so I cranked it up to full which is "9".

That's really all the setup required. It recognised what gear I was in straight out of the bat! But, if it doesn't there is a "Learn" mode which requires you to ride through the gears. It's fairly easy to program.

If you have a TL1000R I highly recommend this device. It's great to be able to glance down and see what gear you're in.

I purchased mine off eBay here:

Hope this video helps you out. :)

Ride Safe! ;)
