Prolapse and Prolapse Surgery w/ Nicola Brown (Real Talk!)

Описание к видео Prolapse and Prolapse Surgery w/ Nicola Brown (Real Talk!)

This is a "real talk" interview about pelvic organ prolapse, surgery, and pelvic health in general! Remember: 1) This is one person's perspective. Everyone is different. Take what resonates and leave the rest! 2) This is NOT medical advice. Talk to your healthcare provider about your specific needs and what's right for you. 3) Both Nicola and I -- Dr. Bri -- feel strongly that for most people with prolapse, non-surgical options should be explored FIRST. Our discussion today focuses on surgery as a treatment option for people who have tried conservative methods of treatment first, and who still need additional help. Our goal with this conversation is to break the taboo and stigma around prolapse AND surgery for people who truly need it and to provide an honest reflection of Nicola's experience with prolapse surgery.

We discuss: Nicola's health journey with multiple prolapses and pudendal neuralgia, conservative treatment methods Nicola tried, how Nicola knew when surgery was her best option, what she did to prepare for surgery, and how she's faring now. We discuss sex, constipation, how to talk to your surgeon, advice Nicola would give to other women who are preparing for surgery, and why she feels it's important to speak out about pelvic health.
