Worst SMPS Controller EVER! (Buck Design Update – UPS Proto)

The NCP3020 from On Semiconductor caused a lot of pain for us. This “28V” rated part, appears to let the smoke out when operating above 18V on the input side… which isn’t great for our part.

We had to call an audible, but our next step is clear. Let’s design a new buck converter to replace the old ones! #SMPS #PowerSupply #engineering #NCP3020
