Episode 13: Top Things to Do in and Around Sedona: Best Hikes and Towns to Visit

Описание к видео Episode 13: Top Things to Do in and Around Sedona: Best Hikes and Towns to Visit

In this episode we explore one of our favorite spots... Sedona, AZ. However, we discovered some really nice hidden gems along the way. We traveled without our rig on this excursion and found the quaint, cool town of Old Cottonwood. We stayed at the Iron Horse Inn and absolutely loved it! Old Cottonwood is a quick 30 minute drive into Sedona so we made 2 seperate side trips into town. We chose to do 2 hikes while there. One was the popular, yet challenging Devils Bridge Trail. The hike was a total of about 4 miles. It's a moderatly difficult hike with most challenging part being around the 1 3/4 mile mark as you start to do the climg up to Devils Bridge. It was a beautiful day out when we went and I highly recommend it for outdoor enthusiast. The Bridge itself was a bit crowded and the line to have your picture taken on the bridge was about 30 minutes. My advice is GO EARLY! The second hike we did the West Fork Oak Creek Trail just north of Sedona. The drive north of Sedona on 89A is absolutely stunning. This hike can be about 8 miles round trip, however, we only chose to do about 3. We were slightly unprepared for the amount of creak crossing required, and as you'll see in this video, Beckys shoes were, lets just say, not adequate. We did visit Chapel of the Holy Cross. The chapel was finished being built in 1956 and cost $300,000 at the time to construct it. It is truly a sight to see for all who visit the area.

It was time to leave the beauty of Sedona and out little piece of paradise in Old Cottonwood and begin our trek towards Kingman, AZ where we would be spending Thanksgiving. We were told by many in the area that we had to do the drive west on the 89A throught the interesting and ecclectic town of Jerome, AZ. Man, would a trippy little place this was. We spent about 3 hours in the town exploring all the shops, and nooks and crannies it had to offer. I definitely recommend checking out this cool littl spot nestled on the side of the mountain between Cottonwood and Prescott.
