Using internal energy to practice Pushing Hands enhances the ability to apply energy in Tai Chi.

Описание к видео Using internal energy to practice Pushing Hands enhances the ability to apply energy in Tai Chi.

Tui Shou, (Push Hands) previously known as "Connecting Hands" (搭手), allows practitioners to sense the fluctuations of force. This method gradually refines the use of physical force into a more sophisticated practice of directing and flowing internal energy.
During the paired practice of Tui Shou, as the body relaxes, the internal energy (qi) flows, and the application of force (jin) becomes more refined. This approach to Tai Chi emphasizes using relaxation to accumulate internal energy, which can then be transformed into "neutralizing energy" (hua jin) and "issuing energy" (fa jin).
As the internal energy flows, it naturally leads to continuous, uninterrupted movements characterized by adhering (zhan), sticking (nian), connecting (lian), and following (sui). Consequently, during Tai Chi practice, practitioners are constantly adjusting and refining the frequency and trajectory of energy flow. With consistent practice, the internal energy becomes increasingly refined, allowing practitioners to transcend physical techniques and movements, reaching deeper levels of Tai Chi's internal essence.
