Kunda manor industrial buildings

The complex of industrial buildings of the Kunda manor includes a water mill with a two-story canal system, artificial rapids and a dam built on it, a vodka factory, a hydroelectric plant, a machine rake of the manor, and the ruins of an old mill. The first written reports about the Kunda manor water mill date back to 1494, the buildings of the manor's industrial complex were built between 1859 and 1895. It is an exceptional example of a clever combination of industrial water construction and landscape architecture in Estonia in the context of its time, industrial heritage complexes preserved from that time are rare.

Kunda mõisa tööstushoonete kompleksi kuuluvad vesiveski koos kahekorruselise kanalisüsteemi, sellele rajatud kunstlike kärestike ja paisuga, viinavabrik, hüdroelektrijaam, mõisa masinarehi ning vana veski vare. Esimesed kirjalikud teated Kunda mõisa vesiveskist pärinevad 1494. aastast, mõisa tööstuskompleksi hooned on rajatud vahemikus 1859–1895. Tegemist on Eestis oma aja kontekstis erakordse näitega tööstusliku vesiehitise ja maastikuarhitektuuri nutikast kombineerimisest, sellest ajast säilinud tööstuspärandi kompleksid on haruldased.
