Winterizing our 2022 Keystone Montana & GE Residential Fridge w/ Ice Maker

Описание к видео Winterizing our 2022 Keystone Montana & GE Residential Fridge w/ Ice Maker

If finally got cold enough here in south Texas that we decided to winterize our 2022 Montana 3791RD. Our RV has a GE Residential Refrigerator with a water dispenser and ice maker. The lines to fridge aren't insulated so we would have needed to do that even if we decide to do some winter camping over the next couple of months.

This video shows how to winterize by draining the water from the water lines and then blowing out any residual water from the fresh water system.

Basic steps include:
-Drain the water from the feed line to the refrigerator and turn off the feed line valve
-Drain the water from both cold and hot water lines using the low point drains in the convenience center. Do this sequentially starting with the longest lines in your RV. (Ours is the kitchen)
-Drain your water heater
-Connect a blowout valve to the city water inlet. Set your air compressor to a max output of 50 psi so you don't over pressurize your water lines and connections.
-Blow air through the line into the water heater then switch the water heater bypass valve to the bypass position.
-Sequentially blow out all the cold lines for all water points. Don't forget your washer connection if you have one. Repeat for hot water.
-Once the RV lines are clear of water, open the ice maker feed line and use the water dispenser inside the door to blow all the water from inside the refrigerator. Remove, shake out the water filter and reinstall. Turn off the fridge completely (no power, no lights, no fans)
-Drain the fresh water tank (you can do this at any point, but recommend you get it done by this point in the process)
-Blow the water out of the outdoor "shower" connection.
-Switch the Tank Fill Power Fresh valve from "normal flow" to fill and blow out the line to the fresh water tank. When complete set the valve to normal flow again.
-Move the blowout valve to the Power Flush inlet connection and blow out the water in the black tank flush system.
-Move the blowout valve to the Winterizing system inlet connection, set the winterizing valve to "on" and pressurize the system, then open both low water drain points sequentially, repeat until no water comes out. You may want to briefly turn on the water pump to clear any residual water in the pump and pump lines.
-Pour pink antifreeze into the P traps in the sinks, shower and also a cup into the toilet - don't flush

Hope you find this helpful. If you have suggestions that might make this easier, feel free to comment below.

When we aren't making a video, we can do this in under an hour,
