Using Alarm.com with a Qolsys IQ Panel 2

Описание к видео Using Alarm.com with a Qolsys IQ Panel 2

In this video, Jorge from Alarm Grid explains how you can use Alarm.com with a Qolsys IQ Panel 2 System. Alarm.com is an interactive monitoring and automation platform that is used with many types of security systems. The IQ Panel 2 has a built-in cellular communicator for connecting with Alarm.com.

A Qolsys IQ Panel 2 needs to be connected with the Alarm.com Servers for monitoring service. Whenever the system experiences an important event, such as an alarm or a trouble condition, the system will send an alert to Alarm.com. From there, Alarm.com will forward the notification to a central monitoring station and/or to the end user directly, depending on the end user's alarm monitoring plan. The Alarm.com service can send alerts to end users via text message and/or email message. End users determine how they would like to receive notifications by adjusting the settings on their Alarm.com accounts.

There are two (2) ways that the Qolsys IQ Panel 2 can communicate with the Alarm.com Servers. These methods are through cellular communication and through a local WIFI network. The IQ Panel 2 has a built-in LTE cellular communicator for establishing cellular connectivity. The Alarm.com service requires that systems establish a cellular connection with their servers. As a result, any user with an IQ Panel 2 who wants to have the system monitored needs a monitoring plan that includes cellular connectivity. The system also includes a WIFI card that can connect with a 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz WIFI network. Most users set up both WIFI connectivity and cellular connectivity for the system. This is sometimes called dual-path connectivity.

You can use the Alarm.com platform to control your IQ Panel 2 System in many ways. By accessing Alarm.com, you can arm and disarm, check current system status, control programmed Z-Wave devices, view the live feed for Alarm.com Cameras, and much more.
