Tenor and Star Wars nerd Josh Lovell joined on May 4 to celebrated Star Wars Day and record a cheery interview from Vienna, where he is in his first (slightly curtailed) season in the ensemble of the Wiener Staatsoper.

He also serenaded us (and his Vienna neighbours) with “O blonde Cérès,” an aria from Berlioz’ 'Les Troyens' that praises Ceres, the goddess of fertility and the harvest, for the happiness and bounty she brings.

Josh first sang with Pacific Opera as a member of our chorus during 2010's 'La Cenerentola', and returned to our stage as Normanno in 'Lucia di Lammermoor' and Bardolfo in 'Falstaff'.

Now based in Europe singing with Большой театр России / Bolshoi Theatre of Russia, Wiener Staatsoper, and Salzburger Festspiele | Salzburg Festival, Josh will return to Victoria and Pacific Opera to sing the role of Don Ottavio in the upcoming 'Don Giovanni'.
