Local Dialects: Among the seven natural villages in Shekou, the villagers of Dachan Village, Nei Lingding Island Dongwan Village, and Yuyi Village are Cantonese-speaking villagers who speak Cantonese dialect; the villagers of Nanshui Village are Hakka-speaking villagers who speak Hakka dialect; the villagers of Yuer Village speak Haifeng dialect Shanwei dialect (Minnan dialect); the villagers of Wanxia Village are Cantonese-speaking villagers who speak Cantonese dialect and Hakka dialect; the villagers of Haiwan Village are Cantonese-speaking villagers who speak Cantonese dialect and Hakka dialect.

Microwave Communication: On August 13, 1981, the Shekou Industrial Zone Microwave Communication Station was completed, becoming the first microwave communication system built by an enterprise in New China, marking the end of the era of information isolation in the Shekou Industrial Zone, and Shekou has been connected to the world since then.
