Epic Battle Fantasy 2: Complete Game (Epic+++ Mode)

Описание к видео Epic Battle Fantasy 2: Complete Game (Epic+++ Mode)

Full run of Epic Battle Fantasy 2 in the hardest difficulty.

The extra challenge I wanted to do is to complete the game without using checkpoints, because using them would be too easy.

The stat upgrades I use follow this sequence: Matt (Attack, Defense, M. Defense), Natalie (Defense, M. Defense).

Cats
I use Iceberg and the normal attack with Natalie so I can access Sub Zero and Death's Touch respectively. Sub Zero is because in every stage of the game (with one exception) I will be using Iceberg so I need to upgrade it as soon as possible. Death's Touch is just insane, I don't think I can explain in full detail with a limited amount of space why this ability is ridiculuos so I will let the video do that.

Bees
I got Artic Wind but in all honestly is not required, is just that it was the only one decent among the options I got. Mana Leech is what completes Natalie's offensive abilities; an obscene amount of damage with the bonus of regenerating all mp in one single attack, which is arguably broken.

Guardian
The toughest fight for me. The strategy is to syphon this thing because otherwise it will regenerate its limbs and that is a very big problem. In my attempts I kept getting extremely unlucky with this fight until I was able to got it down and that one attempt where I managed to beat it is the one seen here. Cleaver is mandatory since it is an extremely powerful attack that I will be using across the run and Regenerate allows me to counter freeze and have a passive way to recover.

The important items are Mist Potions, Antidotes, Ethers and Waters of Life, so in this shop and the other I stock up on them.

Jellyfishes & Turtles
Sniper is extremely important since Iceberg has low accuracy, so I needed to upgrade that. Mighty Mage gives Natalie a little bit more of bulk and evasion for later fights.

Elemental Golem
The only problem is that is random which element he starts the fight as. I got unlucky and lose the 50/50 so I needed to stall a little because switching swords is just a waste of time, however in the grand scheme of things, he is not a problem. Earthquake allows me to have a little bit of extra damage, that by itself is not much but when used multiple times it will make quite a difference in battles. Kyun is also very important since I will be using that attack a lot in the future.

The Desert
Ultra Cleaver is another damage upgrade that is very welcomed. Elusive is also extremely good since dodging attacks could make the difference between winning and losing.

Sandworm
Using Kyun and following with Cleaver is the way to go, but the important thing of doing this is so you can cover the worst possible combinations of attacks he and his tail could do, which is the one seen in the video, poison spit and multi-attack. However, even if he does this he is not a big problem. Giga Cleaver is the final upgrade to Cleaver so it must be taken. Angel can come in clutch so is a good ability, but is not necessary to win, in my practice I was able to get to the final boss without using it (and in this run when it activated it was not game-changing in the slightest, it just allowed me to play a little bit more aggresive, which was good but not crucial for my victory).

Spirits
Here is where I discovered the true power of Unleash, which is stun-lock. Even though is not guaranteed the odds are in your favor so using it is a viable option. Counter allows me to have some sort of passive damage with Matt and Cleric further increases Natalie bulk.

Zombie Hydra
The perfect fight, it speaks for itself.

Flybots
These things are extremely deadly so using Limit Breaks is perfectly advisable. Berserker and Healer are ok abilities but at this point I have everything I already need.

Valkyrie (Tank Top)
Not a problematic fight whatsoever, the only important thing is to set up before the next phase since you will need it.

Valkyrie (Tank)
When I was routing this fight I asked myself how I would deal with the Valkyrie spawing new turrents and buffing its stats when one of them is destroyed, and my answer was "Why deal with something when I can prevent it?" and then my strats were borned. Stun-locking Lance with Unleash is very good since it makes me deal with only two enemies instead of three, and even though stunning him is not guaranteed I can use Kyun in that situation so I can survive the attacks from all three. Doing all of these while continuously using Revive with Natalie ensures victory. I am pretty sure I wasn't close to losing in this fight, sure I had bad luck here and there but I took the best possible decisions I could have taken, overall a very solid fight in my opinion.

This challenge took me two days to do. One of practing and routing and the other was attempts. Extremely happy that the strats I made where that consistent so I was able to get this done this quickly.
