Getting Started With Barry Harris's Sixth Diminished System

In this video, I go over some basic materials you need to know to start using Barry Harris's Sixth Diminished system of harmonic movement. This is a beautifully flexible system that gets you playing all sorts of sounds you wouldn't otherwise think about. I start with the basics, show you how to use it on all different chord qualities, and take you all the way through harmonizing a tune (Irving Berlin's "White Christmas"). For simplicity's sake, all of these examples are in close position, but everything I show you in this video also sounds great in Drop 2. This should go without saying, but of course practice all of this material in every key.
