Every September 5th Portsmouth New Hampshire celebrates the signing of the Treaty of Portsmouth that ended the Russo-Japanese War. Theodore Roosevelt was the main architect of the deal and he came here in 1905 along with a full Russian and Japanese delegation. I’ll ditch work for a bit to show you how Portsmouth celebrates this interesting moment in history. Hint, it involves a lot of bell ringing…maybe too much.
