2019 begins the academic year for many new students in tertiary education and this morning we are looking at the effectiveness of Technical and Vocational Education and Training Colleges or TVET, and their role in the country's economy. Studying at a TVET is not as popular as a university education. Recently the Democratic Alliance told Parliament that 60% of TVET colleges are dysfunctional. On the flip side, Kate Wilkinson, a senior researcher at Africa Check said she though the DA claim misleading. So what are the pros and cons of a TVET education?
