Thailand's MOST TOXIC Bike Ride (Chiang Mai to Pai) 🇹🇭

Northern Thailand has a reputation for being one of the most beautiful parts of South East Asia. The motorbike route from Chiang Mai to Pai has gained bucket list status for travellers, as a popular alternative to Vietnam's Ha Giang Loop.

But I embarked on the so-called Mae Hong Son Loop with much trepidation. Following reports of deadly levels of pollution in the area, this was no longer going to be a pleasure ride. Instead, I investigated the devastating effect of the release of PM 2.5 particles as a result of the seasonal ritual of farmers burning their fields (AKA 'smokey season').

In a juxtaposition of stunning beauty and deadly consequences, I investigated Thailand's most toxic bike ride from Chiang Mai to Pai.
