Omaha Police Visit Pediatric Patients - Nebraska Medicine

Описание к видео Omaha Police Visit Pediatric Patients - Nebraska Medicine

May 13-19 marks National Police Week, a time to honor law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Members of the Omaha Police Department surprised Nebraska Medicine pediatric patients with a visit. Officers brought a police cruiser, motorcycle and even members of their horse patrol to Nebraska Medicine – Nebraska Medical Center. Once officers arrived, pediatric patients were given their own police badge and helped solve a “mystery" in the Healing Gardens. Most of the pediatric patients in attendance are recovering from organ transplants or cancer treatment. For many of them, this was their first time meeting a police officer. Child life specialists at Nebraska Medicine are working to form a partnership with the Omaha Police Department, and have officers visit the pediatric patients several times a year.
