《活力新故鄉》EP78：英國 X 薩洱瑪｜紀念為愛付出的消防員—賴俊儒｜《Home, sweet home》【ENG SUB】

來自英國的薩洱瑪，在北巴基斯坦出生，一段曲折的身世，讓她跟著爸爸來到英國定居，大學時，一次校外參訪來到台灣，在南投的消防訓練中心遇見了準消防員賴俊儒，短短二天的相處，讓不會英文的賴俊儒和不會中文的薩洱瑪印象深刻，隔年的再次參訪，靠著翻譯機的聯繫，讓薩洱瑪對臺灣印象深刻。

偶然的機會裡，遇見一位在嘉義的英文補習班老闆Leo，奠定了留在臺灣生活的可能性，賴俊儒也成了薩洱瑪在臺灣唯一的臺灣人朋友，賴俊儒是來自屏東的客家人，薩洱瑪在與賴俊儒相處的過程中發現，其實客家人重視家族連結與親人間緊密的關係，和巴基斯坦的家庭很像，讓她有了家的感覺。

也因為俊儒的媽媽能夠用英文溝通，讓薩洱瑪更放心的把自己交給俊儒。
新婚的二人在高雄有屬於自己的天地，也因為信仰把彼此拉得更近。

Salma came from England but was born in Pakistan. Her life was circuitous when she was a child, so her father took her to settle in the UK. When she was a college student, she came to Taiwan for an off – campus visit. Then she met Lai Junru, who was taking a training to be a firefighter in the training center of Nantou. Although they knew each other for 2 days only, there was a chemistry between these 2 people, who didn’t speak the other’s language. The next year, Salma came for a second visit.
She had a deep impression of Taiwan by using a translator device.

Unexpectedly, Salma met Leo, who was an owner of an English cram school in Chiayi. Chances were that she decided to make a living in Taiwan. Besides, Lai Junru was Salma’s one and only Taiwanese friend. He is a Hakka from Pingtung. When they got along, Salma noticed that Hakka people value their family and tend to maintain close relationships. It’s just like her family relationship in Pakistan and like a home from home to her.

Since Junru’s mother can communicate with Salma in English, Salma is assured her love to Junru consequently. They just got married and continune building their relationship in Kaohsiung. Moreover, they even get closer because of having the same religion.
