England's Tiniest 'In Service' Church

Built on a mound in the middle of a farmyard surrounded by business units and measuring just 13 ft by 11 ft, Bremilham Church near Malmsbury in Wiltshire lays claim to be the smallest 'in service' church in England.

The building, which looks like it should be sitting on a Monopoly board, houses an octagonal font and a pew that can accommodate about four people.

Previously used to house turkeys, Bremilham Church now holds a service once a year on Rogation Sunday (the Sunday before Ascension Day) when the congregation gather just outside the church whatever the weather!
