We checked out the “Quilts & Christmas” exhibit at the Douglas County Museum of History and Natural History that runs Nov 2024 - Feb 2025. It had quilts, Christmas ornaments and toys from the museum’s large collection.

This video captures the hand-stitched family quilts, their stories and craftsmanship. Many dated back to the mid-1800s. Designs included Crazy Quilts, Tree of Life, Rose of Sharon, Yo-Yo, Log Cabin, Nine-Patch and others. The "Christmas" portion of the exhibit had antique ornaments and toys.

The museum also preserves and exhibits natural and cultural history items with information about Douglas County's reliance on mining, fishing, farming, transportation, timber harvesting and wine-making to thrive. Wildlife in the “The Land of the Umpqua” is also on display.

The Douglas County Museum of History and Natural History is located at 123 Museum Drive in Roseburg, Oregon (off I-5 Exit 123 and next to the Douglas County Fairgrounds). Open seven days a week from 10 am to 5 pm, it can take 1-3 hours to tour the museum. The Lavola Bakken Research Library is open Tuesday through Saturday 1 pm – 4:30 pm. Admission is free for members, ages 0-4 are free, students 5-17 are $2.00, adults are $8.00, seniors and veterans are $5.00. The "Museum Mercantile" is the museum gift shop with books, souvenirs other items including educational games, puzzles and historic toys.
