The first Bloodrayne is a fast-paced third-person action-adventure title. Shooting mixed with hack-and-slash elements. Bloodrayne 2 dials back the speed and moves into a more character-action style of game. One akin to games like Devil May Cry. The third Bloodrayne title, Betrayal, goes with the classic Castlevania approach while taking queues from the second's combat system.

I wouldn't call the Bloodrayne titles great games, although they do flirt with greatness at times in different ways. But the Bloodrayne games are full of charm and memorable characters, especially our heroine, Rayne.
