Bauen Switzerland Uri Vierwaldstättersee Lake Lucerne 4K

Bauen is a enchanting village in Switzerland located on the shores of Vierwaldstättersee (Lake Lucerne) in the canton of Uri. The place has an exceptionally mild climate thanks to its sheltered location. In Bauen, Mediterranean vegetation mixes with the flair of the north. Once the community of Bauen was only accessible via the lake or a narrow footpath. It was not until 1956 that an access road was built to Bauen, which made the place a popular excursion and holiday destination.
On a small square there is a monument to Alberik Zwyssig. He was born in Bauen and is the composer of the Swiss national anthem "Trittst im Morgenrot daher".
