1 tsp baking soda (to tenderize)
1 tbsp salt
1 tsp white pepper
4 tbsp sugar
1/2 tsp chicken bouillon powder
1 tbsp oyster sauce
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tsp sesame oil
1 tbsp olive oil
1 egg
3-4 tbsp cornstarch
1 bell pepper (green)
1/2 onion (sliced)
1/2 pineapple (cut into chunks)

For the sweet and sour sauce:

1 cup water
1/2 cup white vinegar
3 tbsp sugar (adjust to taste)
1 tbsp Chinese rice wine (optional)
1/2 cup tomato ketchup
1 tsp cornstarch (for slurry)

🍳 How to Make Sweet and Sour Pork Ribs:

Prepare the Pork Ribs: Cut the pork ribs into long strips (restaurant-style). Rub them with baking soda, then wash them thoroughly to remove any impurities. Pat dry.

Marinate the Pork: Add salt, pepper, sugar, chicken bouillon powder, oyster sauce, soy sauce, sesame oil, olive oil, egg, and cornstarch. Mix well and refrigerate for 1 hour.

Fry the Ribs: Coat the marinated ribs with a light dusting of flour. Heat oil in a pan and fry the ribs twice – first on medium heat for 1-2 minutes to form a crust, then again on high heat for 4-6 minutes to crisp them up.

Make the Sweet and Sour Sauce: In a pan, combine water, vinegar, sugar, rice wine, and ketchup. Let it simmer and add the cornstarch slurry to thicken. Stir until smooth.

Combine and Serve: Stir-fry the bell peppers, onions, and pineapple in a little oil until tender but still crisp. Add the fried ribs and pour the sweet and sour sauce over them. Toss to coat the ribs evenly.

Serve with rice or as an appetizer! The result? Crispy, juicy, and flavorful sweet and sour pork ribs that are sure to become a family favorite.

👉 Tips:

For extra crispiness, double-fry the ribs.
Adjust the sweetness and sourness of the sauce to your taste by tweaking the sugar and vinegar.
Serve with steamed rice or your favorite side dish for a complete meal.
