In December 2022 I made a trip to Santa Cruz for bus fanning and riding different special units, including these artic buses in Santa Cruz Metro's fleet. There are only 4 of them in the entire fleet, given that these are purchased from Santa Clara VTA back in 2018. They feature Cummins ISL engines and an Allison transmission, which made these sound godly! At the same time, they feel brand new as well!

There was a reroute on the day when I was there, with a protest happening around UCSC campus. As a result of that, most of the buses are not going into the campus except UCSC's own shuttle buses. Many Santa Cruz Metro buses are also having layovers at temporary locations, along Medar Street on both sides.
