Balat is a district in Istanbul's Fatih district, on the shores of the Golden Horn, between Ayvansaray and Fener. The name Balat comes from the Greek word palation meaning palace, the district is the property of this name due to its proximity to the Blaherna Palace on the walls.

The Fener Greek Patriarchate or the Ecumenical Patriarchate of Constantinople is one of the 14 autocephalous churches that make up the Eastern Orthodox Church, which represents Orthodox Christianity. The excitement is led by the Archbishop of Istanbul and Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew I.
