ISTANBUL SAMATYA | 4K Walking Tour

Istanbul, Samatya (Greek: Psamatya) is one of Istanbul Conqueror regions. Yedikule is located in the west of the district, which covers a part of Kocamustafapaşa Neighborhood. It is thought that the name of the district is derived from the Greek word (Psamatyon), meaning sandy, and that this is due to the sandy soils that were abundant in the district in the past.
In 383, the first monastic-style religious building outside the city center was established in Samatya, in the city of Constantinople.
