Snapdragon 865 In Full | 200MP Photos, PC-Level Gaming & More!

Qualcomm has officially launched the Snapdragon 865 SoC, and teased us with all kinds of great features that we can expect in our flagship Android smartphones in 2020. From the usual performance and specification upgrades versus the old 855 platform, to incredible new camera and gaming features, it's looking like next year will be a massive one for mobile.

Let's review the specs. First up, the new Kryo 585 CPU offers a 25% boost to performance and power efficiency, while the Adreno 650 GPU can produce PC-level gaming experiences on your Android phone. Incredible real-time lighting and reflections, plus upscaling to HDR quality graphics.

But the Snapdragon 865's biggest upgrade compared with rivals is Qualcomm's Spectra 480 ISP. This supports photo capture up to 200MP, 4K video recording at a mighty 120FPS, and sustained 960FPS shooting for slow motion goodness. You'll also be able to take photos and shoot video simultaneously for the first time.

Note that the SD 865 won't come with an integrated 5G modem, although it's of course all setup to work with Qualcomm's existing mobile modems.
