A vegetarian dish that tastes exactly like non veg- it’s a veg Keema! Sharing today the recipe of a Soya keema Pav. This soya Keema pav tastes exactly like the non veg keema and no one can make out that it is a veg keema.
The soya keema gets its meaty flavour from the umami flavour present in the soya granules and to enhance that flavour, we will add some soya sauce and ajinomoto in the soya keema.
The dish becomes complete when we serve it with pav.

Recipe :
Soya Keema Pav
Preparation Time: 20 minutes
Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Serves: 3-4

Ingredients:
for cooking soya:
1 cup soya granules
½ tsp soya sauce
1 bay leaf
for curry:
3 tbsp oil
1 tsp cumin
2 inch cinnamon
5 cloves
2 black cardamom
4 chilli, slit
1/2 tsp turmeric
1tsp kashmiri red chilli powder
1 tsp garam masala
3 onions
2” ginger
8-10 cloves garlic
2 green chilies
½ cup tomato pulp
½ cup yogurt
½ tsp salt
1 tsp ajinomoto
1 cup water
Chopped Coriander leaves
50g butter
Pav to serve
Onion laccha to serve

Method:
Boil 1 litre water. Add the soya sauce and 2 bay leaves. Add the soya granules and cook for 4-5 minutes. Drain and wash with cold water. Squeeze and remove all extra moisture from the soya granules.
Finely slice 3 onions and fry till golden brown. Remove form oil. Grind the onion with the garlic and cloves and ½ cup water to make a smooth paste.
Heat 3 tbsp oil in a pan. add the soya granules and sauté till they start to dry up. Add the yoghurt blended with the turmeric powder and the red chilli powder. Sauté till oil leaves the sides.
Heat oil in another large pan. add the whole spices and then the brown onion paste. Mix well. Add powdered spices, season to taste and mix. Add the pureed tomatoes and cook till the masala leaves oil. Add the cooked soya and 1 cup water and bring to aboil. Simmer on low heat for7-8 minutes.
Serve with buttered pav.
