Welcome to Day Eleven of our 40 Days of Lenten Reflections on Catholic Wellness TV.
In today’s Gospel, Jesus teaches His disciples one of the most demanding truths of the Christian life:
Be merciful, just as your Father is merciful.
Jesus challenges the culture of judgment, condemnation, and revenge. Instead, He calls us to forgiveness, generosity, patience, and hidden acts of love. Lent reminds us that mercy is not optional it is the true measure of discipleship.
“For the measure you use for others will be the measure God uses for you.”
This reflection invites us to examine our hearts:
• Are we quick to judge or quick to forgive?
• Do we give generously or reluctantly?
• Do we seek recognition, or do we give in secret?
True charity loses its power when it seeks attention. God is pleased by generosity done quietly, humbly, and sincerely. Lent is not about impressing others it is about becoming more like Christ.
✨ ACTION POINT FOR TODAY
Do one secret act of kindness today.
Tell no one.
Let God, who sees in secret, be your reward.
🙏 PRAYER
Lord, teach me to give with joy and humility.
Make me merciful as You are merciful.
Amen.
