Tiny Motor Room! Modded Schindler Goods Lift 5 in Phase 1 of the Eastgate in Inverness

[Recorded 8/4/23] It's been a while waiting to show up, but finally I upload the last Phase 1 Goods Lift for the official Eastgate video series! This is number 5 and unlike all the others we only have one lift here! All others filmed have had or still have two lifts next to each other but this one is all by itself at the end of one of the service corridors!

Like the others this was a Schindler that had a comprehensive modernisation by Jackson in the mid-2010s, the new motor has a manufacturing date of 2017 so this was probably one of the last ones to have the work done. It features the same fixtures and Digital Advanced MEC32 logic as the rest and has a rear door for level 1! This one isn't the jumpscaring type and seemed to run pretty well.

As with the others we also take a look in the motor room of this one! Accessed via a ladder this is by far the smallest motor room out of any of them. Well, maybe the long decommissioned G12 & G13 with metal cage walls dividing the two lifts could compete, but this is certainly the smallest active motor room of the lot! The motor just fits lengthwise in the area its mounted and the overspeed governor is tucked away behind it. The isolator switches and such seem to be in a rather awkward position, but there's not a whole lot of non-awkward positions available here really!

And with this the Phase 1 Goods Lifts have been completed! Still to come are some more goods lifts from Phase 2 along with a couple of passenger lifts, and Phase 1 still has its three passenger lifts waiting to show up here including the modded Miconics. There will also be more videos of Phase 1's goods lifts coming up separate to this series because they were filmed again with a special guest! Stay tuned for those videos to find out who the special guest is!

IMPORTANT NOTE: All filming of service lifts and motor rooms in the Eastgate Shopping Centre was done with permission arranged well in advance and I was accompanied by a member of staff at all times. Please do not go into service areas without permission, it's disrespectful to the owners and management of the building and can waste staff's time having to deal with you when there could be better things for them to be doing... KEEP OUT OF LIFT MOTOR ROOMS. Many dangers exist that you may not be aware of including moving objects and power-conducting objects which could cause you serious problems or worse if touched. For your own safety and out of respect of building owners/management, stay out!

All my videos are copyrighted to me. You may NOT reuse any part of my videos, including the thumbnails, without permission from me. Additionally, please don't cut up sounds from my videos to use in any form of simulated lift or the like. It's easy to go out and record a sound the way you want it rather than taking someone else's, and it'll be more satisfying for everything about a creation to be entirely yours. So yeah, recording your own is better.
