After the session we did on 03 Sep (Tue), I felt like her breathing and timing was the biggest issue in her stroke. She tends to move her entire body when breathing and has a tendency to to catch up freestyle.

200 hesitation drill (snorkel + fins)
?x Flutter kick - hands by side (paddle on head)
?x Flutter kick - hands by side (paddle on head + backpack)

First thing we did was to address her head movement. To minimise turbulence, we used a paddle to keep her head still. The paddle alone doesn’t address the stability of the hips so we added a board on her lower back to ensure she keeps her hips high and still.

?x Single arm drill
?x Hesitation drill (3 strokes - pause)

We went 5m strong kicking into the single arm drill. Eventually we decided to go 3 single arm into 3 cycles for the whole 25m. This was to ensure that there was transferability of the drill into the swim. The problem with going a full 25 drill into a full 25 swim is that they don’t transfer the skill over to the swim.
