Metacarpal neck fractures (Boxer's fracture) are the commonest type of fractures involving the metacarpal of the finger.
Inadequate or improper management would result in loss of function of the involved finger, as it would affect the MCP joint, and in extreme cases, the PIP joint also.
Deciding on the management protocol is very important. And after choosing the protocol, carrying out the procedure correctly is equally important.
All these are explained in the video.
Also discussed are tension band wiring, Jahss maneuver, percutaneous fixation techniques, plate and screw fixation, and open method of K-wire fixation!
