Constantine VII (944-959) | Byzantine History

After a life spent in the shadow of power, Constantine VII got his first chance to rule for real in 944, taking on the challenge of continuing the Empire's resurgence. Despite being middle-aged by the standards of the time, he had no experience of ruling - so would Byzantium prosper under his rule?

All Greek pronunciations are according to the modern standard. (Or, rather, my butchering of the modern standard.)
