4 car trains. Why do we have 2 engines powering such a low ridership train? The Texas Eagle has 1 engine, & more cars.

I do know that the 2 combine in San Antonio. Just curious to why we have so much power on a 4 car train most of the time....ENJOY THE TRAINS!!

2. Amtrak 175: GE P42DC

Train 2: 0:01:05 Amtrak (#1 WB Sunset Limted)
1. Amtrak 169: GE P42DC
2. Amtrak 202: GE P42DC
